The quickest way to clean a bathroom is to reduce the time spent moving things, searching for supplies and wiping the same surface twice. Start with a clear plan, work from higher surfaces down and leave the floor until last. A maintenance clean and a bathroom with heavy buildup need different amounts of time, so choose your priorities before starting.
Gather supplies and clear the surfaces
Bring clean cloths, a nonabrasive sponge, a toilet brush, gloves, a vacuum or broom, a mop and products suitable for your bathroom finishes. Set aside a separate cloth for the toilet. Remove toiletries from the counter and shower, put towels and mats aside, and empty the bin.

Remove loose dust and hair first
Wipe accessible shelves, ledges and other dusty surfaces before wet cleaning. Collect hair and loose debris from the floor so they do not get spread around during mopping. Keep water away from electrical fittings and do not climb onto counters or the tub to reach high areas.
Clean the shower or tub
Choose a product approved for the tub, tile, grout and fixtures you have. Apply it according to the label, including any waiting time, then clean and rinse as directed. Do not assume one product is suitable for every finish. Use a separate treatment only after checking compatibility and removing the first product as instructed.
For stubborn deposits or damaged grout, avoid escalating to harsher scrubbing without checking the surface manufacturer's care instructions. Staining, wear and damaged finishes may remain after cleaning.
Work through the mirror, vanity and sink
Clean the mirror with a suitable product and clean cloth. Wipe the counter, backsplash, taps and sink, paying attention to corners and the area around the tap base. Turn or replace a dirty cloth instead of spreading residue. Dry surfaces where the care instructions recommend it.
Clean the toilet separately
Follow the toilet product's directions for the bowl. Use your separate cloth for the exterior, seat and handle, and keep these tools away from the sink and other surfaces. Finish with the floor and reset
Mop with a product appropriate for the floor, working toward the doorway. Let it dry before returning mats and baskets. Put toiletries back, hang clean towels and check that supplies are safely stored.
